Pastor Mike Smith
So, this is my family…that’s me on the left. My oldest, Spencer, is next to me and then that’s Shaeffer (Shay) next to him. We love being parents to boys, and we just think it’s a terrific privilege to have them. They’re everything you’d ever design into a kid if you could. Both the guys serve in Kids Community and are like the Pied Pipers of all the little people who just love them. That makes us awfully proud! Watching them develop and wondering what’s in store is one of the greatest things in life. That’s my wife, Tammy, on the other end – she’s my rock. I don’t know where I’d be without her…probably still living with my parents, the only people who’d love me! She’s everything to me, and there’s no end to her – she does it all (and I’m not exaggerating). Our extended families all live in PA, except my sister’s family in TN, but my parents are from OH. We moved from Texas to Ohio in 1999 to help pastor Heritage Christian Church, Westerville, and then helped plant Vista, Dublin, in January 2007.
My background is Air Force, business, and church. I spent my first years out of college as an officer in the USAF. I separated at the rank of Captain to help pastor a new church plant in San Antonio, TX. All in all that amounted to 10 years in Texas. Tammy and i were married early in that season and both of our boys are Texas born! That’s when we moved to Ohio and Heritage Christian Church. Tammy finished up her PhD about that time and I went on to earn an MBA from Regent University. In case that’s too many words, here’s the
